  • Torque Wrenches
  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Gages (Pressure or Force)
  • Dial Indicators
  • Digital Multi-meters, Tachometers, Etc.
  • Etc.
Why is Calibration of Gages Important?
Quality, whether in a manufacturing or a service shop, starts with a fundamental control principle - measurement accuracy. Measuring is part of every job we perform, and in order to complete the job with quality results, we need to know we've done it right. Calibration ensures we can trust our measurements. It's like doing preventive maintenance on our measuring tools, just like changing the oil or making adjustments on a vehicle or piece of equipment. Measuring tools and gages experience wear and tear just like all pieces of equipment, and therefore periodic calibration is essential to accuracy.

If you want quality of your service activities, you have to start with the fundamentals of known accuracy, so you know you've made the right diagnosis, adjustments, and repairs to your customer's unit. It's like insurance in your shop to prevent risk and liability of poor workmanship, and assure you'll give your customers a high-quality service experience.

Services Provided:
SPX & Northstar Calibration, Inc. provide both calibration and repair services to keep your gages and tools in good working order. Whether you send it to our laboratory, or we come to your site, we can calibration dimensional, mechanical, and electronic items, including those on the attached price list, as well as most other items. Please contact us if you have questions about any needed services.

We can repair most mechanical tools, including torque wrenches, calipers, indicators, pressure gages, force gages, etc. Repairs are evaluated and a quote will be sent for your approval prior to any work being done. In addition, we will advise you of alternatives if the repair cost exceeds 60%of the replacement cost of the item. Some repairs may need to be sent to the manufacturer, and we will advise you of that in your quote.

For larger shops with numerous tools, we can also do on-site field service for your calibration needs. Simply provide us a list of your tools & gages, we'll prepare a quotation for calibration and travel costs for your approval. On-site services give you several advantages, including no down-time, convenience, and big savings in time and cost to package & shipping your items.

How often do I need to calibrate my gages?
Most gages are calibrated at least annually, sometimes more frequently, sometimes less, depending on your usage, the environment it's used in, and the precision of the tool. There is no universal standard, it's your decision how often, and if you're not sure annually is a good starting point.

We've developed this easy to use program with YOU in mind. All you need to do is click on the links below and print off the "pdf" of your choice.
